 ABOUT  SCHOOL

School one of the largest and best known language institutes in Canada. School offers a huge variety of classes, a flexible schedule, and a long list of trips, excursions, sports, and social activities.

At school, students follow a program tailored to suit their requirements and are able to alter their program as their skills improve and their short-term goals are attained. Students can choose the focus of their classes from over 15 subjects and are placed in classes with others who are assessed to be of the same level. There is a wide range of possibilities, ensuring that the needs of every student are addressed. The flexibility of the system acts to reduce the time required to attain a given level of proficiency because students work towards their own goals at their own pace. It is common for students to achieve university level TOEFL scores in a matter of months.

In this program, students can choose from the many challenging classes offered including Grammar, Reading, Conversation, Listening, Writing, and Vocabulary, not to          mention Idioms, Pronunciation, and Phrasal Verbs. Classes have an average of 8 students. With guidance from our counselors, students have the freedom to choose subjects, class times, and teachers best suited to their learning style. Classes are 55 minutes in length and are held from Monday to Friday between the hours of 9:00 am and 5:00 pm. Students can register for courses of  three, four, five or six hours per day.

ACTIVITIES

Each week school organizes after-school activities students may want to participate in. These activities are normally free or cost less than if students were to go on their own because they can take advantage of special group rates on admission. These activities include:

Sports [such as soccer, tennis, baseball, skating, and skiing]

Trips to various attractions in and around Toronto [Canada’s Wonderland, CN Tower, art galleries, and museums]

Other Events [school parties, barbeques, baseball games, movies, concerts]

Every week or two, teachers organize three or four day trips to other important cities and historic parks within driving distance of Toronto. The prices depend on the length and details of the trip.

  • Accommodation in Toronto

  •
Where you will live during your stay in Toronto is an important decision. At school, we have full time staff dedicated to assisting our students in finding appropriate lodging with Canadian families.

School homestay program offers students a private room in a family home with 16 meals per week (2 meals per day from Monday to Friday and 3 meals per day on weekends). The cost is:

$900 CAN for the first four weeks

$200 CAN for each additional week
$40 CAN for each additional day

In order to arrange homestay we require the following at least two to three weeks in advance:

    1) Payment for the first four weeks of homestay
    2) Visa confirmation (If visa is required)
    3) Full flight arrival information (This information is mandatory even if airport transfer is not requested)

*Please note that homestay fees do not include internet. Arrangements for payment and usage of internet must be made directly with the homestay family. The family reserves the right to limit usage.

All families have been carefully selected and are visited regularly to ensure quality service. You will receive the name, address, and telephone number of the host family about two weeks before your departure. Flight information should be confirmed as early as possible or, at the latest, two weeks prior to arrival.

Homestay fees should be sent at least two weeks before the starting date of the course. The payment for the first four weeks of homestay is non-refundable. Students are free to change their accommodation after the first month. However, they must give at least three weeks notice to the host family if they decide to change their family or move to an apartment.

Residences are the ideal housing alternative in Toronto for students that are not interested in living with a family. Below you will find a list of recommended accommodations that operate independently of school. Students should contact the residence, youth hostel, or hotel directly for information or bookings. Residence prices generally range between $500 to $1000 per month (not including meals).
